This one-of-a-kind Amethyst gemstone measures approximately 6mm by 4.7mm with a depth of around 3mm, featuring a refined rectangular cut that gives the stone a clean, elegant silhouette. The gem displays the rich violet tones Amethyst is loved for, ranging from soft lavender flashes to deeper royal purple hues that shift subtly depending on the light.

Its faceted rectangular shape enhances both the colour and brilliance of the stone, creating crisp flashes of light across the surface while maintaining a sophisticated, timeless feel. The relatively low profile gives it a delicate, wearable quality, making it ideal for fine rings, minimalist pendants, or detailed earrings where a small but vibrant gemstone is desired.

Despite its petite size, the stone carries excellent colour saturation and a classic jewel-like presence that pairs beautifully with sterling silver, white gold, yellow gold, or even oxidised finishes for a more dramatic aesthetic.

Key Properties & Care

Amethyst is a purple variety of Quartz prized for its rich colour, durability, and timeless appeal in jewellery.

Mohs Hardness: Amethyst has a hardness of approximately 7, making it a durable gemstone suitable for everyday jewellery wear.

Cleaning: Clean gently with warm soapy water and a soft cloth or brush. Ultrasonic cleaners are generally safe for Amethyst, though prolonged exposure to high heat should be avoided.

Maintenance:
Durability: Quartz is chemically stable and resistant to everyday scratching, making Amethyst an excellent choice for rings, pendants, and earrings.
Surface Finish: The faceted cut enhances the stone’s brilliance and allows its violet tones to shift beautifully between lighter and deeper shades depending on lighting conditions.
Storage: Store separately in a soft pouch or lined jewellery box to protect the facet edges from scratches caused by harder gemstones or metals.
