These striking Azurite cabochons are available in three beautifully proportioned sizes, each showcasing the deep, velvety blues and natural complexity that make this copper mineral so captivating. Across all three pieces, rich ultramarine and indigo tones are interwoven with natural variation and earthy matrix patterns, giving each cabochon a painterly, almost geological landscape-like quality.

The large oval measures approximately 36.5mm by 16.8mm with a domed height of around 4.2mm, creating a bold statement stone with an elongated silhouette that beautifully displays Azurite’s intense colour zoning and natural flow patterns.

The medium oval measures approximately 28mm by 15.5mm with a height of around 4.5mm, offering a slightly more compact but still highly expressive form, ideal for balanced statement jewellery pieces.

The small rounded square measures approximately 23mm by 13.8mm with a height of around 3.4mm, giving a more geometric and contemporary feel while still carrying the same deep, saturated blue character in a more subtle scale.

Together, these stones offer a cohesive suite of richly coloured cabochons, perfect for coordinated designs, layering across different jewellery pieces, or selecting a focal stone based on scale and setting style. Azurite’s natural variation ensures each piece is completely unique, with depth and movement that becomes more apparent as the stone is viewed in changing light.

Key Properties & Care

Azurite is a copper carbonate mineral prized for its intense blue colour, but it is softer and more delicate than many jewellery gemstones.

Mohs Hardness: Azurite has a hardness of approximately 3.5 to 4, making it a relatively soft gemstone that requires careful handling and protective settings.

Cleaning: Clean only with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, steam cleaning, soaking, and all harsh chemicals, as Azurite is highly sensitive to moisture and abrasion.

Maintenance:
Durability: Azurite is fragile compared to most cabochon materials and can scratch, chip, or degrade if exposed to impact or prolonged moisture. Best suited to pendants or carefully worn statement pieces.
Surface Finish: The polished surface enhances its deep blue colour but should be protected from abrasion to maintain its richness and clarity.
Storage: Store separately in a dry, padded container away from harder gemstones and metals to prevent damage.
