Gemstone Specifications & Care

Care and Maintenance:
- Cleaning: The safest and most effective way to clean Bloodstone is using warm, lukewarm water and a few drops of mild, unscented soap. Gently scrub the surface with a soft cloth or soft-bristled brush, rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove residue, and then pat dry immediately with a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Avoidances: Avoid harsh household chemicals (like bleach or ammonia), strong acids, and abrasive materials, as these can damage the stone's surface. Do not use ultrasonic or steam cleaners, as the high heat and vibrations can cause internal fractures or stress to the stone.
- Heat and Impact: Bloodstone is sensitive to sudden or excessive temperature changes, which can lead to cracks or fractures, so store it away from direct heat sources and sunlight. Avoid heavy impact, dropping the stone, or wearing it during rigorous activities to prevent chipping or scratches.
- Storage: Store Bloodstone separately from other gemstones, especially those harder than 7 on the Mohs scale (like sapphires or diamonds), to prevent scratching. Keep it in a soft pouch, wrapped in a soft cloth, or in a padded jewelry box
