These versatile Blue Sapphires are cut into calibrated 4mm by 3mm ovals with a 2mm height. This parcel features a beautiful range of saturation, from classic mid-blue tones to fascinating parti-coloured stones. "Parti" sapphires are highly prized for showing two or more distinct colors—often yellow, green, and blue—within the same crystal, making every stone in this size range uniquely individual.
Their petite, standardized dimensions make them perfect for "multi-stone" jewelry designs, such as cluster earrings, ombré-style bracelets, or as flanking accents for a larger centerpiece.
Key Properties & Care
As part of the Corundum family, these sapphires offer the highest level of durability available in a colored gemstone, ensuring they remain beautiful even in high-wear jewelry.
-
Mohs Hardness: These stones have a hardness of 9. They are extremely resistant to scratching and daily "wear and tear." They will not dull or scuff over time, maintaining their polished finish indefinitely.
-
Cleaning: To keep the "parti" color zones crisp and clear, regular cleaning is recommended. These sapphires are fully safe for ultrasonic and steam cleaners. For home care, use lukewarm soapy water and a soft toothbrush to reach behind the settings.
-
Maintenance:
-
Color Zoning: In the parti-coloured stones, the unique color bands are a result of natural trace elements. These colors are permanent and will not fade with light or heat exposure.
-
Chemical Stability: Sapphires are unaffected by common chemicals, including household detergents, perfumes, and chlorine.
-
Setting Versatility: The 2mm height is low-profile enough for comfortable "daily-wear" rings while still providing enough depth for a secure bezel or prong setting.
-
-
Storage: Because these sapphires are exceptionally hard, they will scratch almost every other gemstone in your collection (including Citrine, Tourmaline, and Beryls). Store them in a separate container or a lined pouch to protect softer stones.
