Delft Clay is a wonderfully fine casting medium for creating detailed sand-cast jewellery and small metalwork projects. Its smooth, fine texture allows you to capture an impressive amount of detail from your model, making it a favourite for everything from simple shapes and textures to intricate, one-of-a-kind designs.
The process is beautifully simple: press your model into the Delft Clay to create a mould, then carefully remove it to leave behind a detailed impression ready for casting. You can use all sorts of objects as your pattern (wax, plastic, wood, metal and more) so you’re really only limited by your imagination (and whether your chosen model will survive being pressed into the clay!).
Delft Clay is designed to be reused again and again, making it an economical choice for experimenting and creating multiple casts. After casting, simply scrape out areas of clay that have become blackened or scorched. Keeping the clay clean will help preserve its fine texture and ensure you continue to get crisp, detailed impressions.
Available in 200g or 400g packages. The 200g size is ideal for our small Casting Flasks, making it a great option if you’re just getting started with sand casting or working on small jewellery pieces.
