Refractory Forge Brick

A must-have for any well-set-up soldering station, this large refractory forge brick is designed to help you contain and retain heat while you work.

Made from heat-resistant refractory material, these bricks are ideal for building a simple heat-reflective surround around your soldering area. By trapping and reflecting heat back toward your work, they help your torch work more efficiently — meaning faster heating, better solder flow, and less wasted fuel.

These bricks are not designed to be soldered directly on. Instead, use them to create walls or a backdrop around your soldering surface (such as a charcoal block or soldering board) to improve overall heat control. You can see from the photos how we use ours in the studio to bounce heat back onto our pieces.

Generously sized, they’re easy to stack, arrange and adapt to suit your setup.
